Delaware may get a National Park

Reported in the Newark Post dated; Wednesday, October 26, 2011

Under President Obama’s American Great outdoor initiative Delaware has three sites that are included for a new national park unit.

1) The first State National Historical Park

Along with history of the English, Dutch, and Swedish explorers and settlement will make a great history lesson

2) Delaware National Bayshore Proposal

Great Birdwatching along these shore and protecting for generation to come will be great.

3) C&D Canal recreational trail

The canal connects the Delaware River and the Chesapeake Bay. The canal is about 17 miles long.

With 395 national parks units in every state but Delaware is not right, but the time for it is great considering that the Vice President was the senior senator.

This legislation does open the door for a possible of a 100 new national park units. With this means of how is the National Parks services is going to pay for all these new park unit, since their budget has been severely cut over the last decade.

Time to support Delaware in their cause to have a park unit in their state.
